A Chinese pale celadon jade 'peach' plaque on a hongmu box

拍品描述: The plaque is carved in the shape of a ruyi-head, the upper surface is decorated in relief with a leafy tree bearing to peaches beside a bamboo spray and rocks, all enclosed within a conforming ruyi-shaped border. The box is also of ruyi-form with a square-section hollow to the interior. Please note: this lot contains hongmu and is therefore subject to the relevant trade restrictions in correspondence with CITES regulations. Customers should familiarize themselves with the relevant CITES regulations before bidding. More information can be obtained through the saleroom. Condition: There are a few thin cracks to the jade (the longest approx. 4.5 cm. long), and a three small apertures for attachment. There is a small rough area underneath the rim of the plaque. There are a few small nicks to the extremities of the plaque and the box. Origin: China Period: The jade, 19th century Sizes: 5.00 cm. H x 13.00 cm. W x 11.20 cm. D 1.97 in. H x 5.12 in. W x 4.41 in.
