A SILVER 'SHRI' ROUNDEL PENDANT, ANCIENT REGION OF GANDHARAKushan period, circa 1st century. Finely cast to depict a deity dressed in a belted robe, each hand holding a lotus blossom aloft, the face with a sincere expression, almond-shaped eyes centered by a raised urna, full lips forming a gentle smile, and ears suspending large earrings, the hair combed away from the face and tied into a chignon. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
