Finely carved to depict Buddha Shakyamuni seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus pedestal, the hands held in dharmachakra mudra, wearing monastic robes with deeply incised rhythmic folds. The face with a serene expression and downcast eyes below the elegantly arched brows, his bow-shaped lips forming a calm smile, flanked by long pendulous earlobes, the loose curls piled elegantly over the domed ushinisha, all backed by a mandorla and nimbus. A diminutive figure of Maitreya kneels at the foot of the base.
