A SMALL TRIPOD BOMBé CENSER, 17TH-18TH CENTURY

The bronze vessel is of compressed globular form, supported on three short feet, and cast with a pair of loop handles rising along the flat rim. The base with an apocryphal six-character mark da Ming Xuande nianzhi in raised standard script within a rectangular cartouche.

Provenance: An old private collection in Dresden, Germany. Nagel, Stuttgart, 15 November 1998, lot 1451 (part lot). A noted German private collection, acquired from the above, and thence by descent.
Condition: Very good condition with expected old wear and casting irregularities. Some light scratches, few nicks, and minuscule losses. The bronze with an even, dark, and naturally grown patina.
