奥地利
2015年11月14日 开拍 / 2015年11月14日 截止委托
拍品描述
Grey stone. Northeast India, Pala, approx. 12th cent. Very well-composed picture in all details. The god Shiva sits with Uma on a many-tiered throne with lotus base, one of his legs is dangling and rests on a special little pedestal. In this depiction, Shiva is shown as Maheshvara, as "Big God", and the whole depiction as Uma Maheshvara Murti. The attributes held high by four-armed Shiva are the typical axe (very floral here) and trident, one hand holds one of Uma′s breasts. Her attribute is the mirror. Several small figures are presented. Below is Nandi the bull and a lion, a little man between them, on outer right is a worshipper. Above left, the elephant-headed Ganesha and another god on the right, both "casually seated". HEIGHT 38 CM From the Swiss collection Jack Zuberbühler
