FOUR-HEADED CAKRASAMVARA
奥地利
2015年11月14日 开拍 / 2015年11月14日 截止委托
拍品描述
Fire-gilt bronze. Tibet, 17th cent. Striking about this rare and finely crafted bronze is its small size, considering the high figural complexity. After all, Cakrasamvara has multiple arms and is embraced by Vajravarahi, with whom he is in Yabyum union. Additionally to this, they are standing on two four-armed human beings. The many attributes are not easy to identify, as they are too small, as for instance the head held by the shock of hair by Brahma on the bottom right. Important are the crossed primary arms with vajra and ghanta, symbolising the absolute. Vajravarahi holds a knife up with one of her hands. Both are standing on a lotus pedestal. 青銅鑲金四首勝樂金剛像。西藏, 17世紀。高8.3厘米。 HEIGHT 8,3 CM From a German private collection
