CULT VESSEL JIA IN ARCHAIC STYLE
奥地利
2015年11月14日 开拍 / 2015年11月14日 截止委托
拍品描述
Bronze. China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) The jia was a wine vessel in the archaic period and used to heat wine. Characteristic are the three blade-shaped legs as well as the two buttons, reminding of mushrooms and directly applied on the opening. This jia vessel is relatively quiet tall and shows dense relief ornament all over. It offers typical archaic motifs, including especially the monster face taotie and rowed cicada wings. But there are also stylized phoenix or dragons as well as fine filling patterns in the fields in between, which first appeared in this manner later, as also in the dragon head from which the curved handle emerges. The powerful age patina enables this tripod jia to appear decorative as well as archaic. 古式青銅斝。中國,清代。 高27.7厘米。 HEIGHT 27,7 CM From a German collection
