奥地利
2015年11月14日 开拍 / 2015年11月14日 截止委托
拍品描述
Jade. China, Hongshan culture, c. 3500 – 3000 BC This amulet from the Hongshan Culture is a rarity due to its smallness. The ring form and characterful head of the dragon are definitive for the Hongshan Culture. These dragons were thus called “pig dragons“ or also “dragon embryos“. As there was a corresponding deity, these jades were worn as jewelry and protective amulets. Light grey-green jade, on reverse side opaque yellow-brown coloring as a result of iron content and long-term soil storage. Small loop canal in the neck. 兽形玉玦 – 红山文化, 公元前35世纪-前30世纪 高 3 厘米; 寬 2,4 厘米 HEIGHT 3 CM, WIDTH 2,4 CM From an Austrian-Hungarian collection Accompanying this jade, is an expertise by Univ. Prof. Dr. Filippo Salviati. Also from him, is the following information about comparative examples from publicized excavations or offered from specialist literature: Pendants worked in the shape of coiled dragons are attested in several Hongshan sites: see those reproduced in Liaoning Archaeological Institute, Niuheliang Hongshan wenhua yizhi yu yuqi jingcui (A short presentation of the Niuheliang archaeological site, Hongshan culture and its jades), Beijing 1997, nos. 1, 2 and 5.
