拍品描述
Fire-gilded bronze. Tibet, late 18th cent. Very sophisticated, nicely crafted, massive bronze sculpture, completely gilded and emanating striking sculptural expression. The royally clothed figure is wearing a many-pointed crown, jewelry, princely ornate garments and sits in ardhaparyanka on a thick, decorated double pillow. One hand is in the "abstinence gesture" held below, the raised hand shows a combination of "explanation" and warding off evil. Since there is no attribute, an exact classification of the figure is not possible. One naturally thinks about the often depicted king Songtsen Gampo (7th cent.), who however usually wears an image of Buddha Amitabha in his crown. Here there is a large pearl and flaming whirls. The right high-swirling robe segment adds an interesting compositional contrast to this movement. The facial expression is precise and commanding, the floral ornament on the garments and pillow are compact and carefully engraved. Beneath closure with gilded vishvavajra. Some areas abraded due to age, but altogether very good preservation. 鑲金青銅王像。西藏,18世紀晚期。高24厘米,寬17厘米。 HEIGHT 24 CM, WIDTH PILLOW 17 CM From an old German collection
