The lightly domed lid displays three abstract birds in the form of rings with a bird head, the beaks respectively turned to the outside. This approx. around 2200 year old vessel was used as wine jug resp. then as a burial object, has very strong patina and – due to long storage under the earth - areas with corrosion, particularly on one side of foot. 古代青銅合銀造器袋蓋。西漢代(公元前206年至0年左右) 。高32厘米。法國貴族家舊藏。 法國傳教士 évariste Regis Huc舊藏。 HEIGHT 32 CM From the collection of a French aristocratic family, going back to évariste Regis Huc (1813 – 1860), one of the most renowned explorers of Asia and missionary of the mid-19th cent, who became world-famous for crossing Mongolia, Tibet and China. He was probably also the first European to reach Lhasa in 1846. The collection was systematically recorded and documented in 1967, although no data of acquisition time of the respective objects are included.
