Condition:
The paintings are in age-related condition. The sheets show handling creases. The paintings with small blemishes or rubbed areas. One sheet with a small soilings on the upper edge. One sheet backed beside the right of the female figure. The dimensions are 25.6 x 28.7 cm, 25.4 x 29 cm and 25.4 x 27.9 cm.

YANAGAWA Shigenobu (1787-1832)
Yanagawa Shigenobu was a Japanese painter in the ukiyo-e style. He was the first pupil, son-in-law and later adopted son of the woodcut master Hokusai. Shigenobu designed illustrated books, prints as well as surimono. He focused on themes of the theater. Some of his most desirable works in Osaka includes a series of high-quality oban prints (ōsaka shinmachi nerimono) with depictions of a Geisha and around 30 surimono with different subjects.
