Uncoloured etching is from the ?Vedute di Roma?, which is the name for a collection of 135 monumental etchings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi. With those etchings he had a great influence on classicism and the Empire. Inscription across bottom in plate: Veduta della Piazza di Monte Cavallo / Piranesi del. et sculp. / ... / Presso l'autore a Strada Felice vicino all Trinità de' monti. A paoli due e mezzo. Good condition, print is not laid down and is secured within mat with linen tape hinges at top. Sheet measures 19.3 inches high x 25.4 inches wide. Frame measures 33.5 inches high x 27.5 inches wide.
