拍品描述: Carved walnut 19th century Benson-Hedges tobacco humidor chest. Brass label attached to interior is marked, By appointment to his Majesty the King Benson & Hedges importers of Havana cigars and Egyptian cigarettes Havana (Cuba) Cairo (Egypt) 73 Old Bond Street London, W. Depots at Oxford Cambridge Brighton St. Andrews, N.B. and 215 5th Avenue New York (between Holland House and Waldorf Astoria) also at Newport, RI 550 Madison Square Cable address (Geswalsh, New York) Patented 1901. The lock plate on the chest is also marked Benson & Hedges London. The chest has high relief carving on three sides with an oval medallion on the front with a recumbent nude figure of Poseidon. The center panel is flanked by two figurehead formed carved men. In good condition. Measures 23 inches high x 38 inches wide x 20.8 inches deep.
