Italian 19th century classic bronze sculpture of Narcissus. The antique bronze statue is an excellent copy of the original early Roman bronze.The fine 19th century Neapolitan bronze statue is an old recast of the classical Roman antique bronze (discovered in 1862 Pompeii). The original is now on view in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Naples. The bronze has a rich brown to verdigris finish and is signed along the base with the inscription Fonderia Sommer, Napoli. In good condition with no damage or repair, appears that it was never cleaned or polished. Measures 25 inches in height.
