Antique room size handmade Chinese Oriental rug carpet from the late 19th or early 20th century. Antique ivory field accented with a rich blue center medallion of 5 thin borders. Interior of medallion has an elaborate Persian inscription and woven designs depicting baskets of flowers, vases, pictorial mosques and other foliate designs. The decorative geometric borders of rich blue designs are signed with numerous inscriptions worked into the border patterns. Good condition aside from a few thumb sized holes near border and small areas of edge wear, approximately 5 inch cleanly resewn tear. Measures 197 inches long x 123 wide, or 16.4 x 10.2 feet.
