An outstanding Oil on Canvas Painting, circa 1965, signed Sandu Liberman in the lower right, colorful impressionist depiction of a group of young school boys curiously gathered around an older boy teaching or explaining something that has their curiosity, with interesting body positioning and gaze the classical skeptical blond boy on the right with his hands on his hips an excellent counter position to the attention the the elder boy with his back turn to us is getting. Makes you wonder what trouble or mischief is being stirred up. Housed in its original stretcher and parcel gilt frame, this work would make an impressive gift or addition to any fine household or collection.

BIOGRAPHY:
Sandu Liberman, Romanian/Israeli (1923 - 1977)
Sandu Liberman was born in Yasi, Rumania in 1923. between 1946 and 1953 he took part in ll state shows in Bucharest. in 1952 he was awarded the gold medal at the International Art Festival in Rumania. that same year he was commissioned to illustrate the large encylopedia Rumania, and was appointed Official Portrait Artist of Rumania. He went to Israel in 1962 and settled there. Liberman was commissioned by the Government of Israel to make portraits on many occasions. in 1965 he was commissioned by the Government of Israel to make a portrait of the President of Guinea and it hangs in the Royal Palace.
Sandu Liberman died in 1977.
