拍品描述: DESCRIPTION: ARTIST: Manos Sofianos BIRTH: Greece, 1922-1986 TITLE: Street Scene SIGNED: M. Sofianos (II); MEDIUM: Oil on Canvasboard SIZE: 23-1/2 x 31-3/4 Inches (artwork) / 29-1/4 x 37-1/4 Inches (framed) FRAME: Housed in its parcel gilt large linen liner frame. CONDITION: Excellent. BACKGROUND: Manos Sofianos (1922 - 1986). Born in Castella in Piraeus Greece, he later moved to Muscat; and from 1963 lived in Athens until his death. In 1961, he traveled to Europe where studied near expressionists painters. Later followed the work of the Third in Sicily. Sofianos tried to format the subjective world of giving the topic of secondary location. He always sought to give his paintings a monumental and solid organization of which emanate profound aesthetic emotion. In these aspirations ultimately his work marked a serious and successful.
