拍品描述: 18th century English mahogany hand adorned Savonarola armchair with high relief lion head hand rests, scalp incised arms, an elaborately hand carved crest rail with a scallop shell at the top and bottom ornate scroll work and acanthus leaf adorned centered with a carved side portrait (possibly of the wealthy patron who commissioned the chair to be made). The chair has the typical Savonarola x-form folding body with detailed lion feet. This is one of the most detailed and tasteful chairs that we have offered and would make an envious addition to any fine household or collection. DETAILS: - SIZE: 38 1/2" Height x 26" Width x 22" Depth. - CONDITION: Excellent.
