China, 1644-1912. Naturalistically modeled as an ox, standing foursquare with the head slightly raised, its tail swept to the right, the face with almond-shaped eyes, the mouth slightly agape to reveal a full set of teeth, further detailed with fine incision work below the eyes and cheeks and above the hooves. Overall covered in a soft ivory-white glaze.

Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Fair condition with old wear and firing flaws, some chips, losses and minor old repairs.
