Yasuhara Shoso (born 1884) was the second son of Yasuhara Kiyoshi, a native of Kanazawa who worked in Osaka as a high-end maki-e lacquerware exporter. He succeeded his father Kiyoshi in 1899 and worked in Osaka. He began to exhibit his work at exhibitions from the Taisho era (1912-1926). His style was modern in design, incorporating various ancient lacquer techniques, and many of his works, while highly technical, created an appealing atmosphere.
