拍品描述: Description: Indian Art. An ivory and silver mount powder flask India, Mughal or Deccan, 17th century, England,18th century for the mount. It bears the Ellames family crest and the motto: a??nec sperno nec timeoa?? which means: a??I neither fear nor despisea??. The Ellames family resided at Allerton Hall near Liverpool and was associated with the East India Company in the 17th and 18th centuries. An ivory pilgrim flask similarly carved is published in Bashi Mohammed, The Arts of the Muslim knight, Skira 2008, p. 288 . Cm 16,00.
