拍品描述: Description: Himalayan Art. A large thangka depicting Refuge Field Sino/tibet, late 18th century . Huge thangka depicting the so called Refuge Field in the composition peculiar to the Gelug-pa school. The historical Buddha Sakyamuni is portrayed in the center, in his classic posture, surrounded by a golden halo and peonies. The character is flanked on the right by the future Buddha Maitreya and on the left by the bodhisattva Majusri. Surrounding the main characters are four groups of 254 secondary characters lined with clouds and lotus petals. In the lower part are eight orders in which are depicted, among the others: Jambhala, Yama, Mahakala, White Mahakala, Chakrasamvara, Vajrabhairava, Green Tara e Amitabha. The three remaining groups are made up of religious and historical figures. Within the section positioned above the historical Buddha is portrayed the master Tsongkhapa, while in the last order, characterized by his blue skin, is Vajradhara tied to his spouse. The whole composition is held aloft by the four Lokapala and the dharma wheel.. Cm 94,50 x 132,00.
