the Rosary with St.Dominicus and St.Francis as adorants, oil on canvas, lush gold accents, canvas relined, major traces of age, paint loss, standing on a cloud the Mother of God carries her son in the left arm, she turns to the right and stretches out her right hand, showing a rosary to St. Dominicus, while Christ turns to St.Franciscus presenting a cross, and forming the blessing gesture with his right hand, there are strong iconographic and compositional parallels between the offered painting and the devotional picture ''Virgen del Rosario'' from the Santuario de Nuestra Se?ora de las Lajas, a basilica built inside the canyon of the Guáitara River in Ipiales / Southeast Colombia. Due to the supposedly miraculous image of the Virgin painted on a slate, this place was allready a very important and popular place of pilgrimage in the 18th century, even before the construction of the stunning magnificent church building, in a beautiful gold stucco framing, partially glazed and somewhat damaged, size: ca. approx.77x56cm / total meassures: ca.99x77cm
