拍品描述: Poured Wax Child Of Prague In Dome:
Holding a globus cruciger: The?cross represents Christ's dominion over the orb of the world, literally held in the hand of an earthly ruler (or sometimes it is held by an angel). ... (Latin for the "Saviour of the World”). Since 1788, the statue's raised two fingers have worn two rings, as a thanksgiving gift by a noble Czech family for healing their daughter, along with its golden blond hair. Some earlier records indicate that the original wig was possibly white. Gold on clothing plus lamb is for Easteri. A wedding gift of a statue of the Child of Prague is particularly auspicious. Well-detailed stylized wax figure with painted features, wax hair and metal coronet, white wax dress with gilt trim, posed atop wooden base covered in wax greenery and flowers, wax covered tree trunk with wax leaves at back, gold orb with cross in left hand, two fingers of the right hand raised, wax lamb on left side, wooden base, glass dome. Paper banner on front reads "Gnadenreiches Jesukind". Provenance: Spiros Doulis, jeweler and antiques dealer with a shop on Philadelphia Jewelers Row for over 70 years.
