A Chinese blanc de Chine Guanyin,
18th/19th century, seated with his right hand resting on his right knee, his left elbow resting on a beaded armrest with claw foot, a scroll to his left hand, his robe spreading to the ground around him, four, character stamped mark Boji Yuren to the back,
23.5cm high, in a silk-lined box
Literature: The impressed seal mark 'Boji Yuren' translates as 'virtue extends to all, including fishermen' - for figures bearing the same seal mark, see 'Blanc de, Chine: Divine Images in Porcelain' by J Ayers, pp.117-120, pls.68-71.
