A Chinese cinnabar lacquer 'peach' box and cover , Qing Dynasty, 18th century, possibly depicting Zhang Guolao, one of the Eight Taoist Immortals with an attendant or an immortal and his servant in a landscape, the sides carved with bats and cranes amongst scrolling clouds, 16cm wide x 15cm deep x 9.5cm high
Provenance: ‘Mr. Ko’ who worked for the Chinese Postal Service from 1904-1947 and then by direct family descent.
