A porcelain white dish with relief decor of a lotus and a copper edge. Marked with 6-character mark Xuande. China, early 17th century. Diam. 21 cm. Provenance: Collection Six and Bosch Reitz. Bosch Reitz (1860 - 1938) was a gifted painter and also a head curator for Asian Art of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, between 1914-1927. With ancient on loan collection number (L.1720.4) Metropolitan Museum New York. Mentioned in the 'List of acccessions and loans' of the 'The Metropolitan Museum of Art Bulletin', vol. 12, no. 12 (Dec. 1917), p. 255.
