the deep sides rising at an angle from a slightly
tapered foot to a ! ared foliate rim, decorated to
the exterior with a bird perched on branches of
wisteria and ! owers, accompanied by the three
characters Dayazhai, followed by a seal reading
Tiandi yijia chun (Springtime in Heaven and Earth,
One Family), the base with a four-character mark
Yongqing changchun (Eternal Prosperity and
Enduring Spring)

(1907-1988) and Francis M. Bacon III (1900-
1982), Sherrewogue, Saint James, Long Island,
and thence by descent.
See a closely related bowl of comparable size,
sold twice at Christie’s New York, 20th November
1979, lot 339 and 13th-14th September 2012, lot
1204. A pair of similar bowls, but smaller in size,
was sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 20th March
1990, lot 719. Another from the Mount Trust
Collection, is illustrated in Soame Jenyns, Later
Chinese Porcelain. The Ch’ing Dynasty (1644-
1912), 1951, London, pl. CXV, " g. 1; and a further
bowl without the foliate rim, from the Percival
David Foundation, included in the exhibition
