拍品描述
The piece features a fully front beaded knife scabbard and trade knife from the Sioux Native American Indians from circa 1890. The piece was displayed in the Cherry Creek South Dakota Museum until it closed in 1960 when the current collector purchased it. This was kept in the private collection in Iowa since the museum closed in 1960. The scabbard or sheath shows excellent 19th century glass trade seed bead and a rare and uncomman "zig zag" design. The scabbard also has long cut fringe with a yellow ochre dye and copper jingle cones. The trade knife is marked, "I. Wilson Sycamore, St. Sheffield, England." Sheath with knife measures 13.25"L. Sheath is 8"x3.75" with 3.25"L fringe. Knife is 10"L. The piece is displayed in a black shadow box with a glass top 8"x14.5" and 1.75" thick. Has original museum tag.
