Shimaoka Tatsuzo (1919-2007): Large Ceramic Vase ex coll: La Jola Art Center where the artist exhibited and gave potting demonstrations in 1963, with their painted inventory mark 64:229, "No.1" label, "sold" label, and "Made in Japan" label affixed to base the artist's mark impressed into the base; together with 2 Catalogues on the artist who was declaired a Living National Treasure of Japan in 1996, the Mingei International Museum retrospective catalogue 2000 and the 1997 Exhibition at the Togei Messe Mashiko Gallery. All in good condition. Height of vase 14 1/8 inches (35.9 cm.). Provenance: The La Jola Art Center deaccessioned much of its collection circa 1985 through Christie's East, NY.
