D. R.); Typed letter signed 1975 by Daniel "Chappie" James Jr. (February 11, 1920 – February 25, 1978), in the year he became the first African American to reach the rank of four-star general, and signed as Commander in Chief of the USAF; Typed letter dated 1932 and signed by Newton Diehl Baker, Jr. (December 3, 1871 – December 25, 1937), on the stationery of his Law Firm in Cleveland, after his term as Mayor of Cleveland and US Secretary of War under Woodrow Wilson during WW1; original printing of US Patent 365797 dated 5 July 1887 to Robert Creuzbaur for modifications to his steam engine. Good condition with light normal wear and folds, now in archival storage sleeves.
