拍品描述
VERY FINE Qing Dynasty Chinese Sino-Tibetan gilt SILVER Buddha figure of Amitabha Buddha (Tibetan: san gye o pame. English: the Buddha of Boundless Light).
Seated in the perfect posture of meditation, with one serene cold gilt face and two hands, blue-black hair in tufts with a top-knot ornament and the split ears of a prince, he wears the saffron robes of a fully ordained monk. The two hands are placed in the lap in the mudra gesture of meditation and hold a begging bowl filled with nectar. With the two legs folded in vajra posture seated above a lotus throne. Extensive trace of gilt and blue-black pigment on the hair. The underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi, enclosed within BaJiXiang Octo-foil lotus petal.

PROVENANCE:
The private collections of Earl Sorensen, based out of Atlanta, is known as a prominent Buddha collector. A International businessman whom trades with various Asian countries during the 1960s. On a business trip in Western China, he received a Buddha statue as gift from a monk. Since then, he has became fascinated with Buddhist artifacts and Eastern cultures. After many decades, Earl Sorensen has planned his retirement, and decided to pass his beloved collections to appreciate collectors. Earl Sorensen's collections can be found from Lot-55 through Lot-65, and from Lot-93 through Lot-110.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition. With normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. some missing stones inlaid. Normal, consider ages and wear.
