18/19th Chinese Qing Dynasty QianLong Reign period table Screen crafted from highly valued Zitan wood, elaborately carved in a rectangular shaped panel, depicted water foliate along with outcrop rock works in relief, adorned with pair of carved jade ducks. Alternately on verso panel, with carved gilt inscriptions of themed poem. Displayed upon an elaborately open work carved hardwood frame stand. The carving is exquisite and smooth, the nephrite jade shows clean white tone and beautiful iridescent. Mandarin ducks (YuanYang or xi) are believed to mate for life and, therefore, a pair of mandarin ducks symbolize fidelity, marital bliss, conjugal affection, peace and prosperity.
