拍品描述: Alfred Dunhill; Surrealist "Letter" Cigarette Case; champleve enameled with the address of "Mme. Lucia Davidova / Arlington House / London, SW1" and dated with a canceled postmark for "17 May 1937" over a hand painted champleve Edward 7 Postage Stamp. Spring hinged top and bottom and fully hallmarked to each part inside. Good condition. Height 3 1/2 inches (9 cm.) X width 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm.). NOTE: Lucia Davidova was a close friend of many of the European Avant Garde between the 2 World Wars and especially Balanchine and the Ballet World. She was known as a "Pearl Feeder"; her naturally oily skin was said to enhance the luster of natural pearls and she could be induced to sit in your bank vault and feed your pearls.
