Ink and color on silk, hanging scroll,
depicting one of the five Wisdom Kings
(Ch: Da Weide Mingwang), the red-headed,
gnarled green-skinned, multi-armed, threefaced
deity surmounted by the benevolent
head of Amitayus and haloed by bursts of
multi-colored flames; his top left-most hand
upheld in a defiant esoteric gesture warding
off evil, the remaining arms clasping a sword,
a trident, an arrow, a wisdom pearl, and a
khatvanga, all seated upon an elaborately
caparisoned white water buffalo.
