Wanli mark, Late Qing/Republic period
Of cushion form with indented corners, the pale brown lacquer
ground of the top and sides incised and then painted in various
colors with stylized flower and leaf scrolls, the corners also incised
with diaper patterns and highlighted in orange, the interior surfaces
and the recessed base within the foot covered in black lacquer and
the base also bearing the six-character mark written in gold standard
script (chips, cracks, repairs).
