The first a massive red satin horizontal celebratory hanging with
inscriptions cut from black velvet and glued to the ground, trimmed
with brocade borders and knotted fringes (minor soiling, loose edges
to characters); the second a Manchu official’s winter hat of black
velvet with red twisted silk tassels, clear glass finial for the fifth civil
rank and attached queue (wear); a pair of slippers for bound feet
with embroidered decoration (extensive wear); and a pair of heartshaped
pouches in mustard yellow and blue satin embroidered in fine
gilt-wrapped couched thread with a sanduo branch (extensive wear,
