Late Qing dynasty
With center front closing, embroidered with roundels of flower vases,
bowls of fruit and other auspicious emblems worked in satin and loop
stitches, the dark ecru satin sleeve bands also embroidered (fabric
shredded and extensively degraded); together with a Japanese
Buddhist priest’s stole (kesa), sewn from cut pieces of black ground
silk woven with flower and leaf scrolls in subdued colors and giltwrapped
threads (soiling wear, tears). [2]
