Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century
Each showing yellow and aubergine enamels on a leaf green ground:
the first jar impressed with a large peony flower and leaf scroll design
below a cloud collar lappet band on the shoulder that appears on
the associated lid with lotus bud finial (both extensively repaired and
retouched); the second jar applied in high relief with opposing pairs
of playful fu-lions chasing ribbon-tied fabric balls amid incised cloud
scrolls below a band of cloud collar lappets on the shoulder (old
chips, degraded glaze). [3]
