Ming dynasty
The jar of compressed globular form molded with thick walls and
carved in relief with three reserves of qilin separated by diaperpatterned
panels, the flared foot filled with a convex dish-shaped
base applied from the interior, the glassy moss green glaze showing
extensive craze lines (firing cracks); the associated lid carved with
emblems of the Eight Immortals on the convex surfaces above an
undulating rim, the craze filled glaze firing to an olive green hue.
