拍品描述: A FINELY PAINTED BLUE AND WHITE ‘WAN SHOU WU JIANG’ DEEP BOWL, QIANLONG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1796) Finely potted with a gently everted rim and sloped body, the exterior revealing the stylised characters 萬壽無疆, the eight Buddhist emblems decorating the interior and exterior, Qianlong seal mark to base, diameter 7.3" — 18.5 cm. Provenance: From the collection of Karl Wilhelm Gerdhem (1868-1932). Karl Wilhelm Gerdhem was a notable Swedish technologist and engineer, as well as a collector of Chinese porcelain. One of his most recognizable achievements would be his work with SAT and the other leading telephone company, Ericsson, making him one of the premier figures behind early 20th century telecommunications networking. He acquired much of his collection in the early 1900s in Beijing, during his negotiation with network construction in Guangzhou, before returning to Sweden at the outbreak of the WWI. Much of his collection remained in his family until then. Note: A nearly identical bowl can be found in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, accession number 故瓷008829N, also illustrated in Good Fortune, Long Life, Health, and Peace: a Special Exhibition of Porcelains with Auspicious Designs, 1995, National Palace Museum. Another similar bowl was sold in Christie’s London, November 3, 2009, lot 200. Estimate: $30,000—50,000
