拍品描述: Marc Sterling ( Russian 1895 --1976 ) Oil Painting Ecole de Paris Marc Sterling ( Russian - French 1895 --1976 ) Still life with Apples and Bananas, 1930 oil on canvas , framed 50 x 61 cm (19 3/4 x 24 in.)signed and dated lower left Condition : Very good Bio : Marc Sterling began his official studies of art in 1909 at the Odessa Art College before moving to Moscow where he continued his education at the VHUTEMAS, studying under Vladimir Tatlin in the early 1920s. While in Moscow, he formed a close friendship with the avant-garde poet and artist Vladimir Mayakovsky. Sterling emigrated from Russia to France in 1923. Upon settling in Paris, Sterling joined the circles of the Montparnasse artists belonging to the Ecole de Paris.
