CIRCA 1825, BLUE SCEPTRE MARKS TO ALL, SOME WITH BROWN PRINTED CROWNED EAGLE K.P.M. MARKS, VARIOUS IMPRESSED AND PAINTED MARKS
Each finely painted with a garland of flowers to the rim, including tulips, sunflowers and pomegranate flowers, comprising: two compotes with an ormolu flori-form pin holding the bowl to the socle, the underside of the rim with a band of molded biscuit grapevine above gilt scrolling foliage on a salmon-pink ground, the stem and foot with burnished gilt stripes alternating with matte gilt stripes with vermiculé decoration; and seven plates en suite

Lot Essay The compote form, known as 'Fruchtschalen mit bisk. Wein: Laub', was also used for the service given by Frederick William III to the first Duke of Wellington and delivered shortly after 2nd November 1819. See W. Baer and I.
