AN INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTING OF SHIVA, PARVATI, GANESHA AND NANDI
India, 18th-19th century. Watercolors, ink, and gold on wasli paper. Depicting Shiva and Parvati resting on a tiger fur, below a Banyan tree. Parvati holding her son Ganesha, the white bull Nandi lying before them.

Provenance: From a South German private collection, assembled in the 1970s. The back with old inventory numbers 'To 3', '9200', and '30'.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, few creases, minor losses, the edges with minuscule flakes, small stains, and minor repairs with associated supports to the back.

Dimensions: Size 23.6 x 16.5 cm

Compare a related painting of Shiva, Parvati and their sons, dated to 1760, Guler, India, in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, accession number IS.34-1949.
