The jardinière is finely painted on each lobed side with a five-clawed dragon, forming two pairs contesting flaming pearls and a single leaping dragon embracing a Shou roundel. The everted mouth is painted with five crane roundels against a brocade ground. The five scroll-feet are decorated with lotuses borne on scrolling tendrils. The base is unglazed, with an aperture in the centre for drainage.
