The rounded sides rising from a short slightly flaring foot, covered in and out with a lustrous black glaze with densely spaced russet flecks, thinning to chocolate-brown at the mouth rim and pooling in an irregular line above the foot exposing the coarse buff-fired ware. The similarly glazed cover is domed above the wide, everted rim and has a small knop.
