拍品描述: Antique Chinese Large Yellow "Wax Stone" Boulder Seat, the unusually large stone on a fitted hardwood stand to function as a raised stool. Good condition with light age related wear. Width 15 3/4 inches (40 cm.) X height to top of stone 19 1/4 inches (49 cm.). NOTE: An almost identical stone and stand, 15 1/2 inches (39.3 cm.) total width, was sold in Part 1, "Masterworks"; the Collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth, 17 March 2015, Lot 49, for $93,750, over an estimate of $30,000/50,000. The note for this lot mentions the highly valued stone's "unusually large size, handsome form, smooth texture and even golden-caramel tone." where a boldly carved stand serves to transform the stone into a work of art and also raises it to a height to function as a stool.
