拍品描述

Japan, 1615-1867. Standing on a hexagonal lotus base in samabhanga, the face with a serene expression and downcast eyes, the right hand raised in vitarkamudra and the left held in dhyanamudra, the hair arranged in spiral curls forming an ushnisha, wearing a robe open to reveal the chest, surrounded by a large mandorla with cloud motifs. The body applied with black and gilt lacquer, and with inlays.
Provenance: Dutch private collection.
Condition: Commensurate with age, with wear, lacquer flaking, the figure slightly loosened, natural age cracks, woodworm holes, losses to the base.
