A RARE PAIR OF ARCHAISTIC BRONZE JUE QIANLONG MARK AND PERIOD

拍品描述

China, the bronze jue dated 1739, the associated presentation tray dates to the 19th century. The two-tripod bronze vessels with a deep and round body supported on three tall blade-shaped feet. They are cast with a meander-patterned band, flanked by the handle issuing from a modeled dragon head, and a pair of posts with conical caps rising from the neck, with a Qianlong mark translating to 'On a lucky winter day of 3. Year in Qianlong Era' underneath the spout. Comes together with an associated reticulated lacquered wood presentation tray.
Condition: Good condition with usual traces of wear and age, and casting flaws. The tray with losses to the lacquer and some small columns missing.
Provenance: Parisian private collection.

Auction result comparison: Compare another bronze jue, also dated to the Qianlong period (1736-1795), at Christie's New York in Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art on the 19 to 20 September 2013, lot 1545, sold for USD 17,500.
