A PAIR OF PARCEL-GILT GARLIC HEAD VASES, 17TH CENTURY

拍品描述

China, Qing dynasty (1622-1912), 17th century. Each with a compressed pear-shaped body rising from a high spreading foot to a long tapering neck, surmounted by a garlic head below a waisted mouth with everted lip, cast with a sinuous chilong twisting around the long neck, covered overall with a dark patina enhanced with irregular areas of gilding.
Provenance: Sold at Galerie Perret Vibert in 1978, inventory number 2257. Compagnie de la China et des Indes, Paris, acquired from the above. Private collection, Belgium, bought at auction.
Condition: Good condition, dents, material loss to the bottom rim, and casting imperfections.
Weight: 650 g and 606 g
Dimensions: Height 20.8 cm
